Emphasizing on the pilar of 'powerful network', UTS, as the only provider of LTE coverage on Curaçao, recently improved, expanded and invested in its LTE network, resulting in the fact that now Chippie users can enjoy LTE coverage all over our ‘dushi’ island. UTS started with the roll out of LTE from Pariba till the area of Sta. Maria and has now been expanded island wide.
Simultaneously, UTS changed its 2G network and improved/upgraded its 3G network.
UTS introduced LTE in the first quarter of 2016 . It stands for 'ultra fast mobile data' and is up till now the latest, most adopted technology in the area of mobile telecommunication. With LTE you can experience a much higher and faster internet/data connection on your mobile, wherever you are, on all your favorite applications and without any type of restrictions. With the introduction of LTE in 2016, it was included in all Chippie Premium data packages for free, but since the beginning of this year, it's included in all data packages.
Thus, with the expansion and upgrade of the LTE service, Chippie clients can now enjoy much higher speeds and a more widespread coverage on our island. It is important though to emphasize that for a client to be able to enjoy LTE, he/she must have a mobile phone or tablet/Ipad which supports the technology of LTE bands. Manufacturers often indicate if their devices are compatible with this technology. However, if there are any doubts, customers can always visit a UTS Store to confirm this. Of course, UTS also has LTE compatible mobiles available at all UTS Stores
